I. MEDIAWAVE GIPSY & HUNGARIAN MUSIC WORKSHOPS
3-7 August 2010

Kisharsány, Southern Hungary

During Passport Control workshops many music cooperations came into being where experienced musicians worked together with young musicians. In the course of their cooperation, bands presented themselves and independent musicians joined in, and the education was tuned for individual development and needs.

Similarly to the filmmaker and photographer workshops, this year the music workshops form thematic series. Under the title "Together through thick and think", the focus of attention will be on Roma culture and music.

Closing concert of the first Roma and Hungarian workshop, during Earth's hour

1. GIPSY & HUNGARIAN AUTHENTIC ACOUSTIC SECTION
5-7 August 2010, Kisharsány
Leading musicians: Ervin and Tibor Orsós

The workshop is open to all.

We are expecting those who participated previously and of course new musicians who look for a deeper understanding of gipsy music – singers, guitar players and percussionists. The leaders will be from a boyash band from Devecser. The aim of the workshop is to introduce and practice well-known and unknown layers of gipsy music. Video - 1 - 2 - 3.
The participation is free for inhabitants of Ördögkatlan villages, and for those with a valid festival ticket or pass. You can join in for the entire workshop or only for a short time.
