21:00 CONCERT - SYNTAX ORCHESTRA
Dr. Caligari – silent movie with live music www.syntaxmusic.net
„Syntax Orchestra, made up of 6 members, is an irregular sextet (drum, doublebass, bass clarinet, saxophone, guitar) with the appearance of a VJ this time. Nationally known members of the band have had many successful performances together (Triton, Echinger Quartett, Nigun, Kreol Sikoly, etc.) and now they attempt to play a music which is improvized and composed by the rules of montage theory and includes film music elements as well.
The band with the appearance of János Vázsonyi, feel comfortable in several different styles: let it be either funky, jazz, Hindu music, Hungarian folk music or atonal contemporary music with repetiting elements.
On their huge screen in opposition to the traditional VJs, Baranyai Julikalács uses films from the classical film history and early avantgard moving pictures (Jarmusch Fellini, Man Ray)and mixes it with the brainstorming themes of the composer Nagy Krisztián. We can recommend this concert not only for those who are crazy fans of cinema-jazz, but also for you, if you like dancing in the cinema and watching films during dancing. Ahoj!”
Application is now open to this year's Passport Controll Summer Workshop and Gathering, at the Kund Castle, Somogyfajsz! You can choose from a range of visual, music, family and gastronomy workshops. Click here for details!
