SYNOPSIS, SHORT FILM AND SCREENPLAY APPLICATION OF THE FILMFUND GYŐRThe Filmfund Győr announced the award-winners of its first synopsis, short film and screenplay application at the press conference of the 40th Hungarian Film Week. From among the 23 feature film plan, the jury awarded Péter Szalay's screenplay titled Border-Line Case. The film focuses on the GDR and FRG events when the borders in Sopron were opened. The director has done thorough pre-work in the related topic. Mihály Buzás received Honourable Mention for the treatment 'Stary Sky' which, in satiric form, examines the secret moon landing plans of a little village. Dr. Rudolf Ottófi, the vice mayor handed the prizes and held a speech for the press representatives.
The team of the Filmfund Győr intends to help the realisation of the winner film plans. The Filmfund will look for the possible German coproduction partner to Péter Szalay's film at the Berlinale. In the first phase of the application the jury evaluated 58 film plans in short fiction, animation and documentary categories.

Jury members:
The aim of the application was to map the interest of film makers towards the region and we got quite a positive result as we received 81 film plans from Hungary and the neighbour countries.

Greek filmmakers at the Passport Controll Summer WorkshopTwo Greek filmmakers will come to this year's Passport Controll - Summer Art Workshops and Community Gathering, to lead film workshop for students. Film director Karina Logothetis and sound designer Vasilis Zlatanos won the award for the Most Original Short Film at the 33rd edition of the Mediawave Film Festival this year, with their short fiction Pebble.
