Our Foundation applied for a European Union Culture (2007-2013) grant framework program last autumn and now that their decision became public. We happily considered that the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency centered in Brussels supported our ideas.

The 19th Passport Control of MEDIAWAVE Foundation awaits young artists and those interested over 16, whether beginners, intermediate students (in formal art education) or advanced (with qualifications and/or experience) who intend to learn and develop their talent within the framework of a creative, international art cooperation offering fast and effective progress in practical knowledge. Fred Anderson (March 22, 1929 – June 24, 2010) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist who was based in Chicago, Illinois. With a distinctive forward-bent playing posture, Anderson's playing was rooted in the swing music and hard bop idioms, but also incorporated innovations from free jazz, rendering him, as critics Ron Wynn and Joslyn Layne[1] have written, "a seminal figure among Chicago musicians in the '60s." Even the catastrophical weather conditions couldn't stop MEDIAWAVE Festival's jazz and environment weekend in Őriszentpéter. Surprisingly - even for organizers - the shed theater's hall was filled for the excellent international jazz concerts. The artist mostly looked forward to was the "godfather of rap", Gil Scott-Heron on the second weekend of MEDIAWAVE festival. But the musical centre of gravity was in the end: Baba Zula from Istanbul has taken all the credits - in magic, sight and energy.

Only weather chilled out MEDIAWAVE Festival that moved to Szombathely this year. On its 20th occasion the well-known quality has been presented at the film and music muster.

On Saturday evening, 8 May, the decision of the two international juries turned out.

According to it, the Main Prize & the Award for the Best Feature went to George Ovashvili for his film, The Other Bank.
